The Kingdom of God

“Truly I tell you, no one who does not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will ever enter it.”

The phrase “Kingdom of God” refers to God coming to earth to demonstrate His power and glory and to exercise the rights He has over Satan’s dominion and the world’s current order. It means much more than just salvation or the community of believers (the church). It is the powerful manifestation of God in all His works. The Kingdom is essentially the clear revelation of divine power put into action. God begins His spiritual reign on earth among His people and in their hearts. He comes to earth with power. We should perceive this power not as political or physical, but as a spiritual force. This kingdom is not a religious-political issue. It does not aim to save or reform the world through social or political actions or violence over worldly governments. The world will remain the enemy of God and His people throughout this age. God’s direct judgment and power will establish His reign only at the end of this age.

“Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.”

Because God shows Himself with power, the world enters into turmoil and distress. God’s clear display of power terrifies Satan’s dominion, and everyone must decide whether to submit to God’s sovereignty. The essential and necessary condition for entering God’s kingdom is to accept the proclamation, “Repent and believe the Gospel!” (Matthew 1:15)

“From that time on Jesus began to preach, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.’

The primary sign that a person lives in God’s Kingdom is being “filled with righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.”

“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
